A commercial success, the album has been certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.[6] Nugent released his next album, Double Live Gonzo!, the following year.
Cat Scratch Fever is a real condition: it's an infectious disease caused by a cat scratch that usually affects young children. Nugent, however, changes the meaning to make it much more lustful, with the 'cats' being women. The song is about sex and his rampant desire for it, or put more succinctly.

Mar 11, 2007 Cat Scratch Fever is an album by Ted Nugent released in 1977, as well as the name of the album's title song. The name alludes to a disease referred to as CSD or cat scratch fever, so called because it is typically transmitted from cats to humans by cat scratches. May 02, 2019 I remember the first time I heard this album in the late 70's and loved it immediately for its catchy guitar riffs and energy. Although, Ted Nugent has many great albums in his album catalogue, 'Cat Scratch Fever' is still my favorite album from him.
